And so it begins…Saturday 27th April was the first shooting of trashing the dress. My poor sister Conach drew the short straw and is the first guinea pig. I watched the weather for days in advance and then I saw, Saturday was to be the warmest (at 12 degrees, I was lucky) and bright for once.
I prepped with towels and a hot water bottle so we would battle the cold the best we could. Freaked a bit as for all my searching, I couldn’t find my flash extension cable so lighting was going to be au-naturale today. I struck it lucky as the weather man had got it right and the sun was playing ball.
The lighthouse was our first stop and boy did we have a good laugh, from wellies being filled with water and refusing to leave the feet of our model to winkles that would just not come out ;). Although I was a bit insulted when we had another photographer pass us and ask if we were students! The cheek!!
The wellies were abandoned and Rossglass beach was the perfect spot as the tide in and unusually calm. My most helpful assistant and I thought we could be on holidays although our poor model was not feeling the same heat or relaxation.
Once we began Conach get into her stride and was amazing. She posed and giggled and took no notice of the cars slowing down to rubber-neck. She was up for anything and didn’t even bat an eye-lid when I just said, ‘walk into the water, now sit down’.
Who said modelling was glamourous?!?
